Monterrey Iron & Metal

Monterrey Iron & Metal is a metal and scrap recycling center located on Frio City Road, near Quintana Road, in San Antonio’s south side of town since 1895. We purchase both ferrous and non ferrous scrap metals like steel, plate& structural, aluminum, copper, lead, auto radiators, brass, electric motors and many more. We provide pick-up and drop-off services for high-speed plant clean-ups as well as monthly container service.


We have over 400 roll-off boxes, 2 heavy reduction balers, 12 cranes, 8 roll-off trucks, 4 Big Rigs, 45 trailers, an automobile shredder, five shears, and two 70 ft high-capacity scales. We also have a rail line to the Union Pacific hub, which allows us to ship domestically and internationally via rail. Our 15,000 sq. ft. warehouse facility is equipped with a digital scale and forklifts to assist unloading.

We are committed to providing an environmentally friendly service, we have large and advanced equipment that allows us to process, separate and prepare all the metals we buy for re-use by mills and furnaces around the world. Each of our over 80 employees play an important role in the scrap recycling process and we are proud that many of them have been with us 10+ years, including two over 55 years.
